  1. OMS

Scenarios

Distribution Scenario

What Is It: It is a chain of rules that facilitates the creation of Packaging Orders by conditioning the order properties and order items.

Scenario Prerequisites

Scenario Selection: Order planning is carried out by prioritizing all distribution scenarios defined on the OMS, and checking them individually.

Distribution scenarios can provide a set of prerequisites with the capacity to control three unique order properties:

  • Channel

  • Shipping Company

  • Payment Type

In all prerequisites, the requisite can be dynamic or static.

The prerequisite marked as dynamic has a null value. This means that the relevant prerequisite is not significant in the selection of scenarios.

When the requisite type is specified as Static, depending on the relation between the prerequisite and the order property, the potential values of the channel – shipping company or payment type must be specified in the requisite value field, and the set of orders required to run the scenario must be customized.

With the use of prerequisites, multiple scenarios are created and brand orders are planned with different scenarios.

Default Location

The location for these unplanned order items to be rescheduled (in a non-operational manner) when the products in an order that is to be determined by running the scenario rules cannot be proceeded with a Packaging Order as there is no sufficient stock in any location.

This field is mandatory.

The system enters the “OutOfStock” Packaging Orders assigned to the default location into a rescheduling process every 30 minutes, and ensures that they are assigned to locations with available stock.

Default Multiple Packaging Orders Status

Used when multiple packaging orders are created for a single order when scenario rules are run, and for customizing the initial status of these packaging orders.

For instance: Packaging Orders must be defined with the Waiting Remote Action status, so that Trendyol orders can be delivered in parts.

Packaging Rules

What Is It: Packaging Rules are the functions that assign unplanned order items to the specified locations as new packaging orders in consideration of the prerequisites.

Prerequisite

The setting group that specifies on which product groups the Packaging Rule can be run, and whether the rule will be run by providing control over the product SKU – Basecode or Attribute values.

If defined, it filters the unscheduled order items. For instance, the packaging rule can be configured to only work for Products with specified SKU values.

Prerequisite Types:

  • Product -> SKU

  • Product -> Basecode

  • Product -> Attributes -> Any

Product Selection Method

Used to determine for which products the packaging rule should be run. The default value is All Products.

If the orders created within the scope of Bundle Products must be placed in the same packaging order in line with the rule, the Bundle Products Only option must be selected. In distribution scenarios where rules govern the “Bundle Products Only” selection method, it is mandatory to add the rules for selecting/ scoring the locations where non-bundle products will be packaged by selecting the “Non-Bundle Products” selection method.

It should be noted that it is mandatory to type in all items of any order to which the purpose of the distribution scenario can be applied as a work order (Packaging Order) for a particular store.

Location Selection Method

This is the field specifying the locations for which the packaging rule can define the Packaging Order to be produced in case of availability.

Location Selection Methods:

  • Selection by Coordinate (Locations within the specified KM-wide region based on the delivery address)

  • Selection by Stock Location List (Selected locations only)

  • Selection by Excluded Stock Location List (Locations other than those selected)

  • Selection by Stock Location Type (Locations of the specified type only)

  • Select the same location as that specified in the Shipping Address (Locations in the SAME region as the delivery address, on the basis of Country – City – District – Neighborhood) E.g. Same City or Same Neighborhood

  • Select By Quota (Locations with the value of the maximum quota. Before using this method, the maximum quota value must be specified in the Location Quota field of the relevant location. )

Regardless of scenarios, the process of lowering and raising quotas continues, the quota amount continues to increase and decrease on a location basis. However, for these alterations to impact planning, the scenario rules must have the SELECT_BY_QUOTA value.

  • The maximum quota value specifies how many packages can be created from the respective location. The quota value is a user-unspecified parameter used for monitoring the maximum quota value and performing increase or decrease operations.

  • max_quota - quota = available_quota

  • If the available_quota value is 0, no packages can be created. (To encounter this scenario, the SELECT_BY_QUOTA value must be chosen in the scenario rules.)

  • For packages with a status below 400 and in the cancellation_waiting state, the quota value increases by 1. (During this stage, when the package is in the waiting state, the quota amount is considered to increase by 1.)

  • Upon packaging a package, the quota value decreases by 1. Consequently, the available_quota increases, enhancing the likelihood of packaging from the respective location.

  • In the event of a package cancellation, the quota amount decreases by 1 in a similar way.

These methods can be combined. For instance, only warehouse-type locations within the same city can be defined with two back-to-back methods.

The location selection method is a core packaging rule requirement.

Location Scoring Method

With the Location Scoring Method, you can determine the order in which the Packaging Order assignment will be made while considering the availability of the products for the StockLocation set to be obtained by the location selection method(s).

  • Score By Priority

  • Score By Distance

  • Score By Rounding City Distance

  • Score By Active Package Count

  • Score By Stock Amount

These scoring algorithms can be combined with each other, and critically inform the creation of Packaging Rules.
