The "Locations" menu in the Akinon Order Management System (OMS) is essential for tracking orders and managing the fulfillment process. It helps manage all types of locations—such as retail stores, warehouses, and distribution centers—via a centralized platform. This menu enables you to configure, monitor, and optimize these locations, improving supply chain efficiency and ensuring transparency in operations.
To view location details in Akinon OMS, navigate to the Akinon OMS > Locations page. You can also directly access the page via this link:
https://{YOUR_OMNITRON_URL}/en/oms/stock-locations
When a new store is added to the Sales Channels > Store Management > Stores list in Omnitron, it’s necessary to add these stores as locations during the OMS setup for optimal use. This can be done by running the retail store task on the Akinon OMS > Settings > Basic Setup > Retail Stores page using the “Run Installation Step” button.
Additionally, this page can be accessed via the following address:
https://{YOUR_OMNITRON_URL}/en/oms/settings/basic-setup/retail-stores
To ensure that the store information added or updated in the Sales Channels > Store Management > Stores list is reflected on the Locations page, OMS uses the retail_store.created
and retail_store.updated
webhooks.
The target URL for these webhooks is:
https://{YOUR_OMNITRON_URL}/api/v1/oms/stocklocations-webhook
If these webhooks are not added, any changes made while creating or editing a store will not appear in the location list. These webhooks must be configured in the Omnitron application, and you should verify their presence in the Omnitron > Settings > Webhooks list.
Location Lists: The Locations menu enables users to view and manage all physical locations involved in the supply chain and sales processes. It acts as a centralized hub for all location-related data, ensuring that information is easily accessible and manageable through a single interface.
Location Specific Roles: Each location can be configured for specific roles such as packaging center, fast delivery availability, transfer, delivery or return location. This customization allows each location to be utilized based on its unique attributes and roles.
Inventory Management Integration: The system supports assigning inventory to specific locations and managing stock levels at each site. Users can configure and manage the Stock Integration Engine for each location, ensuring accurate stock levels and streamlined inventory management.
Order Fulfillment Process: Businesses can configure location-specific features within Akinon OMS to optimize order fulfillment strategies. Orders can be routed to the most suitable location for packing and shipping based on factors like proximity to customers, stock availability, or specific order requirements. This helps ensure efficient and timely order delivery.
Adding and Configuring New Locations: New stock locations can be added for both stores and warehouses. Users can configure roles and settings for each new location to tailor them to specific operational needs.
The Location Listing page provides access to the details of the locations that have been added. These details include the information required during the process of adding or updating locations. In this section, users can filter locations based on various criteria and perform tasks such as adding new locations or updating existing ones. This page serves as the central hub for tracking and managing all locations, allowing for efficient oversight and modifications as needed.
The table on the Location page allows locations to be filtered and tracked based on their defined values. The list is displayed according to the following key attributes. When the number of locations exceeds 20, pages can be set to display 20-250 items. For a detailed explanation of the fields in the table, refer to the "Location Create and Update" section. For detailed information on the filtering section, please refer to the "Location Filter" section.
Clicking the filter icon opens a pop-up where filter selections can be changed. With the live search feature, you can quickly find and apply filters. These selections will affect the filters displayed on the listing page.
Locations can be filtered for quick access based on the following location features;
Stock Location Name: Name of the store or warehouse.
Stock Location Type: The type of location (e.g., store, warehouse).
Stock Location Engine: Refers to the Product Stock Integration, which manages stock integration at the location. It can be defined through Akinon OMS > Settings > Product Stock Integration List > New Stock Location Engine. (https://{YOUR_OMNITRON_URL}/en/oms/settings/stock-location-engines/form)
ERP Code: The ERP code assigned to the location.
City: The city where the location is situated.
District: The district within the city where the location is located.
Delivery Location: Indicates whether the location is used for pickup purposes.
Transfer Location: Indicates whether the location is used for transferring goods.
Return Location: Indicates whether the location is used for processing returns.
Packaging Center: Indicates whether the location is designated as a packaging center.
Target Packaging Time: The time set for packaging orders at the location.
Target Exit Time: The time set for orders to leave the location.
Active/Inactive Status: Indicates whether the location is active or not. Only active locations can be used in scenarios. Inactive locations are only listed in the location list.
When adding a new location, click on the “+ New Stock Location” button located at the top-right corner of the page. In the opened page, it is necessary to fill in the location details.
First, there are mandatory fields that need to be filled in the “Tag” section.
Stock Location Name: The name of the store or warehouse.
Stock Location Type: It is selected whether this location is a store or a warehouse. Additionally to use the Stock Location Type, it must be added in the “Stock Locations Condition” section on Transfer Scenario and Distribution Scenario pages, so the scenario will work based on the Stock Location Type selection.
ERP Code: The store's ERP code.
Status: The status of the location (active/passive) is selected. Locations that are inactive cannot be used as packing and transfer locations, even if they appear in scenarios.
There is a “Behaviours” section where preferences for how the stock location will be used are set:
Priority: Sets the priority for packaging and transfer orders in relation to other active locations. Users can assign values to this field based on the number of locations. For example, if 40 locations are added and priority needs to be applied to all, values between 1 and 40 can be assigned. The priorities are used in the sorting according to the “Stock Location Ranking Importance” value on the OMS > Scenarios > Distribution Scenarios > Edit Order Distribution Scenario page. Priorities ensure that the location with the highest priority (e.g., priority 1) is given precedence in the scenarios.
Capacity: Defines the maximum order capacity that the location can handle. To use the capacity field, it must be added in the “Stock Locations Condition” section on Transfer Scenario and Distribution Scenario pages, so it allows defining capacity for locations and setting priorities in scenarios.
Packaging Center: Selecting a location as a packaging center allows packaging orders to be created at this location. If the status is set to passive, the location will not be available for creating packaging orders, even if it is selected as a packaging center in the scenario page.
Fast Delivery Availability: Determines whether the location is eligible for fast delivery. When enabled, the product's stock status is verified at the cart stage before the order is placed. Additionally, the Packaging Center setting must also be activated for this feature to work.
Transfer Location: Designating a location as a ‘Transfer Location’ identifies it as a source point for product transfers. When enabled, this location becomes available as a transfer source in defined scenarios, transferring products to different locations. If the ‘Status’ of the location is set to ‘inactive’, no product transfers can be made from this location to different locations. This ensures that only transfer locations designated as active are used and this functionality is crucial for maintaining the accuracy and efficiency of the product flow.
Delivery Location: Specifies whether the location will be used as a pickup location. When this setting is enabled, the location can be used as a delivery address for Click & Collect orders. This setting must also be consistent with the "Delivery from Store" setting found on the Sales Channels > Store Management > Retail Stores page.
Return Location: By enabling this option, customers can return products directly to this location. When activated, the location functions as a return collection point for in-person drop-offs. Note that this setting does not influence return procedures conducted through shipping carriers.
Use Stock Location as Shipping Location: When active, the location's name and address are sent to the shipping company as the sender's address. When inactive, the sender's address used is the one added in the OMS Settings > Shipping Company Management > Edit Shipping Company form, meaning the default shipping address for the shipping company is used as the sender's address. Additionally, this address information is also sent to the shipping extensions. This setting is used when the address information of a location, other than the default shipping address, needs to be sent to the shipping company.
Address Section: The location's address details are added, including address title, country, postcode, address detail, latitude/longitude, and contact information. It is important to add address details so that OMS can accurately define the distance during the order process. Additionally, there is a section where the address information is displayed on a map.
After all the information is added, the new location is saved by clicking the Save button.
To update an existing location:
Select the location from the list.
Click on it to open the details.
Update the desired fields in the form.
Click the Save button to apply the changes.
This list allows you to add target packing or transfer times, which are determined based on the Delivery Type. The Dispatch Type criteria define whether the times apply to packing or transfer orders. This section becomes visible only after a location is saved.
To add a new interval, click the "Add Dispatch Interval" button.
Delivery Type refers to the four delivery options and standards defined by Akinon, which are used by OMS:
Standard Delivery: Shipments handled by any shipping company within the specified timeframe.
Same Day Delivery: Deliveries and transfers completed on the same day.
Next Day Delivery: Deliveries and transfers scheduled for the following day.
In-Store Delivery: Specifies a pickup time for orders collected from the store.
Dispatch Type determines whether the selected Delivery Type and set time apply to the packing process or transfers from other locations. There are two options:
Packing: The selected delivery type and time apply only to the packing duration.
Transfer: The selected delivery type and time apply only to the transfer dispatch time.
Dispatch Interval: The time format should be entered as DD HH:MM:SS
. After clicking the Save button, the specified time for this delivery type will be set.
From this page, the Dispatch Type time set for a Delivery Type is defined as the maximum duration. For example, if “Delivery Type: Standard Delivery” and “Dispatch Type: Packing” are set with a time of “00 10:00:00”, it means that for orders with the Standard Delivery type, the maximum packing time is 10 hours. If “Dispatch Type: Transfer” is selected, it means the transfer of the order must occur within the specified time.
Using related locations is an optional feature. This allows additional location details to be added for a specific location, enabling the use of multiple addresses associated with it. For example, if there is an alternative address near a store or warehouse that can be used, a related location can be added.
To add a new related location, click the Add Related Stock Address button. In the form that appears, fill in the address details to add a new related location.
To edit locations, click on a location from the list. In the form that appears, update the address details.
Product Stock Integration: In this field, the defined stock locations are selected. Stock locations can be defined through OMS > Settings > Product Stock Integration List > New Stock Location Engine. You can also directly access the page using the following link: “https://{YOUR_OMNITRON_URL}/en/oms/settings/stock-location-engines/form”. Based on the selection here, physical stock is queried. More details about the usage of Product Stock Integration can be found .
